Both Teams to Score (BTTS) Predictions on Goalii

Both Teams to Score (BTTS) predictions estimate the probability that each side in a football match scores at least one goal — a "Yes" outcome — versus the chance one or both teams keep a clean sheet ("No"). Goalii publishes a BTTS analysis for every covered fixture, weighting each team's attacking strength against the opponent's defensive solidity. Every prediction is graded and logged.

What "BTTS" means

BTTS — Both Teams to Score (in Turkish: KG Var / KG Yok) — is a market that asks a yes/no question: will each team score at least one goal? "Yes" wins if both teams score. "No" wins if at least one team fails to score. The market is independent of total goals — a 1-1 draw is BTTS Yes, and so is a 4-3 thriller.

How Goalii predicts BTTS

Goalii's BTTS model combines four signals: each team's recent goal-scoring rate (offensive xG and conversion efficiency), each team's clean-sheet rate against opponents of similar quality, the opponent's defensive solidity (xGA and recent shutouts), and the head-to-head BTTS history between the two clubs. The model is recalibrated daily.

When BTTS predictions tend to land

BTTS Yes is more reliable when both teams are in attacking form, neither side has a recent clean-sheet streak, and the fixture is between two clubs that both need to win (e.g. mid-table teams chasing European spots). BTTS No is more reliable in cup fixtures with rotated lineups, between a top-tier team and a weak attacking opponent, or in matches with severe weather.

BTTS combined with Over/Under

BTTS Yes is highly correlated with Over 2.5 goals — both require attacking action — but the two markets are not identical. A 1-1 draw is BTTS Yes but Under 2.5. Goalii publishes both predictions independently so the model's read on each is auditable separately.

Why Goalii publishes BTTS hit-rate by confidence band

BTTS Yes happens more often than the average bettor expects — historical league averages range from 50% to 60% in the top European leagues. Goalii's model has to do better than this baseline to be useful. The in-app hit-rate breakdown by confidence grade shows how Goalii's A-grade BTTS picks compare with the league baseline, so the model's edge is visible rather than implied.
